Professional Development Services

From Initial Teacher Training and Foundation Degrees to a range of Continuous Professional Development courses, our Professional Development Service is at the very forefront of training within the special education sector.

Offering a range of short and long-term programmes, the Centre welcomes teachers and support staff locally and regionally. There are courses to suit all levels of experience and expertise including support staff, trainee teachers, teachers and SENCOs.

Whilst the Centre specialises in SEND provision, its courses are highly relevant to those in mainstream education. Without exception, its courses are informative, engaging and of high quality enabling participants to improve their skills and knowledge as well as furthering their careers. The Centre draws on the expertise and experience of teams working at Whitefield Academy Trust schools in order to create programmes that are highly relevant to today’s school environment.

Alongside its professional development courses, the Centre offers outreach services to schools across north and east London providing consultancy and support at management levels on all areas of their SEND provision. The Outreach Team also works with individual pupils with additional needs at mainstream schools creating bespoke solutions to enable them to access the full curriculum.
