Welcome from our Chief Executive

Welcome from our Chief Executive

With an ethos based on enjoyment, achievement and wellbeing for all, Whitefield Academy Trust seeks to open up the world for children and young people with SEND.  We are expert in serving these children and young people and make it our mission to give them the tools, skills and confidence to flourish, lead independent and fulfilling lives and make a positive impact on the world.  Our children and young people are at the very heart of our Trust and through our Education Charter we pledge to provide them with the highest standards of specialist education, care and support.

Comprising inclusive and welcoming special schools, extensive outreach services and the highly-successful Project SEARCH, our Trust is a thriving and ambitious learning community.  Whilst each school and service has their own distinct identity, they all work closely together to share ideas and explore ways of driving improvement further.  It is by working collaboratively as a learning organisation that we can provide enjoyable, high-quality learning opportunities for our children and young people. We are committed to our Trust values to guide our actions and behaviours in everything we do.

We firmly believe that every single one of our children and young people can thrive and we are proud to champion the valuable contribution people with special needs make to society.  Across our schools and services, our children and young people are the best example of what people with SEND can do and I am extremely proud of what they each achieve and the progress they make.

The secret to successful SEND education, however, is partnership and we fortunate to have strong partnerships with our host and commissioning local authorities, helping them meet the needs of their local communities.  But our most important partnership is the one we have with parents and carers.  They are vital partners in their child’s education and we work closely with them giving them the tools to support their child’s learning and welfare.

Across our Trust, we seek to make every day a positive, safe and meaningful learning experience for our children and young people as well as our staff.  Please get in touch to find out more.
